So important, in fact, that we're focusing our 2026 Teacher Institute on research-backed strategies to promote confidence and belongingness through centering student art.

From validating students' learning to inviting family involvement, centering student art can transform a learning community. In the big picture, we see this as a way of reinforcing art's place in education: at the heART!

While we will focus on ways to integrate the arts across early childhood settings in our 2026 Teacher Institute, we wanted to share some core reasons why showing student art matters for you to apply in your own contexts in this cARTie @ home blog. We hope this sparks meaningful conversation and reflection, and we cannot wait to hear what additional notes you'd add. As with all things cARTie, this is a living, breathing, and ever-evolving document, made better with your involvement.
