There are a few ways to donate.

Both one-time and monthly donations make a difference. Monthly donations allow you to automate your giving and provide funds throughout the year. One-time donations are made once and do not repeat.
Your donation helps us bring more students aboard the art museum bus. Just $10 helps one student benefit from early art and museum enrichment with cARTie. Your donation also helps support student exhibitionships and internships, ongoing educator training for top quality programming, and other community pop-up programming we provide free-of-cost.
Yes, all donations to cARTie are tax-deductible. Our EIN is 84-4194200.
We are grateful to use Givebutter as our donation platform, which provides us a way to accept online donations with low processing fees and the platform at no cost. Because of this, optional tips, or thank-yous from donors help offset the costs of the platform. You are not required to tip.
We accept all major debit and credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, cash, check, and in-kind donations.
Givebutter charges a processing fee for all online transactions to cover the credit card processing fee imposed by credit card companies. You have the option to uncheck this box and the fee will come out of your donation.

Our programs vary in duration and frequency. We can adapt to meet your needs, as well. From a single visit to twice-monthly visits, we do it all! Email us at [email protected] and we can help you understand which program is best for your needs.
cARTie programs include time for exploration, discussion, and creation. We begin with theatrical introductions, then time to explore the museum, discuss artwork, read and relate, create art, and then reflect.

cARTie has been physically designed to accommodate students and community members of all abilities. We go beyond ADA compliance and take a human-centered design approach, as well as an asset-based student-centered approach to all program development and material selection.

Yes! If possible, let us know ahead of time and we'll make sure to have it ready.
We have technology available that helps support their needs and are prepared with audio descriptions in our programming. If you have specific requests, just let us know so we can accomodate.
Our education team has received beginner training in ASL, and we are prepared to work with interpreters. Please let us know about any specific requests.
We work with you and your students, and are familiar with different forms of supportive technology your students may use. We ask for your collaboration in the process.
We work with you and your students to adapt our program and space in advance to support your students' sensitivities. In our pre-visit material, we also provide a Know-Before-You-Go Guide that outlines expectations and provides resources to get ready for your cARTie art museum bus visit. Our bus is a relatively small gallery space, and we encourage you to prepare your student(s) accordingly.

We showcase juried art exhibitions of middle and high school student art.
Our annual Call for Art goes live in April. Join our mailing list to be the first to know!
Our jury reviews all submitted student art thoroughly. We ask they consider the diversity of student-artists represented, as well as the mastery of individual works, their relation to the annual theme and call for art, and relevance to young students.
We were established to celebrate the diversity of student-artists from different parts of Connecticut to help young children see themselves represented and acknowledged in the art world. Showing student art ensures diverse artist representation for young students to connect with, provides student-artists necessary exhibition space, challenges traditional museum models, encourages the recognition of child/adolescent material culture, and establishes a pipeline for older and younger generations to exchange through art.
