cARTie

Connecticut's nonprofit mobile art museum bus

What Elementary School Principals Say
"What [cARTie] does is really great. Linking who the high school student artists are and our students' experiences of their art is incredibly unique. Introducing our students to these high school student artists is transformative and powerful to achieving and teaching about equity."
About

ABOUT

cARTie is CT's first and only nonprofit mobile art museum bus committed to bridging inequities in education and arts access across the state. cARTie’s programming is focused on high-school student-artists, entire communities, and PreK-2 students with limited access to the arts in education. On an annual basis, cARTie exhibits a juried art show of a diverse representation of high school students' art in highly interactive and participatory ways for PreK-2 students and their communities with limited access to the arts in education. cARTie ensures all young children positive and prolonged early introductions to museum-based learning and opportunities for developing critical and creative thinking dispositions.

MISSION & VISION

cARTie strives to confront inequities in education and arts access for young children, emerging student-artists, and entire communities across Connecticut through its mobile art museum bus.

One day, cARTie will ensure all 109,000+ PreK-2 students, 1,000s of emerging student-artists, and entire communities within the state will have equitable access to art museum-based learning and develop the critical and creative thinking dispositions so necessary to twenty-first century success.
